Description

The College of New Jersey's Institute for English as Second Language & American Studies is seeking short-term, temporary faculty for an intensive summer program for international students and non-native speakers of English. The Institute will hold classes Monday through Friday from July 5th to August 2nd, and all faculty will teach morning and afternoon sessions. Faculty must also be available from June 26th through August 8th for orientation, testing, and planning activities, including collaboration with faculty teaching American Studies.

Instructors will hold class sessions in a well-prepared, two-level curriculum; meet with students outside of class time, and be responsible for assessing student work. Lunch on class days will be provided, but housing and other expenses are not.

Minimum Requirements: BA in any liberal arts field, 18 graduate credits in TESOL, and one (1) year of ESL classroom experience.

Preferred Qualifications: MA in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or related field and two (2) or more years of teaching experience at the college level.
