The Sustainability Institute at the College of New Jersey seeks a motivated person to join our team to provide support for key organizational functions.

The Sustainability Institute is a "Think and Do Tank" that researches, develops, and deploys solutions to pressing sustainability issues. The Institute delivers a market leading program, Sustainable Jersey, which is a proven framework for engaging local institutions, particularly municipal governments and schools, in practical initiatives that improve the long term sustainability of their communities.

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for updating content the organization's websites and overseeing our website maintenance and development vendor contracts, administering the Sustainable Jersey Small Grants Program (a key component of the Sustainable Jersey program), producing reports from our online reporting systems and other processes, and other duties as assigned related to the administration of the Sustainable Jersey program.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or an Associate's degree with two years of relevant work-related experience

* Experience coordinating projects, processes, or events involving multiple participants

* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

* Knowledge of website content management systems (i.e. Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress, or TYPO3)

* Ability to complete simple image editing using Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar application.

* Familiarity with using database applications to track information and generate reports (Access, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Ability to effectively organize data and present in a meaningful way.

* Ability to operate independently, while working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.

* A proven ability to meet deadlines

* An interest in sustainability issues and/or working with municipalities or schools to implement policies and programs.

* Basic knowledge and experience with HTML and Cascading Style Sheets

About the Institute

The Sustainability Institute at the College of New Jersey manages a number of cutting edge research and outreach programs focused on sustainable development, including the award winning Sustainable Jersey Certification Program. Our mission is to advance sustainable development through research, outreach, and training. We work with local, state, and federal governments and public schools, as well as the private sector, to help decision makers develop better capacity to understand the long term consequences of their actions.

The salary is $35,000-$45,000 based on experience, and comes with a full benefits package including health, dental, and retirement benefits.
